How to Set Up Human First Routing & Zoiper

Answer calls on your own device before the AI teammate picks up — connected through a free softphone app called Zoiper.

This guide explains how to enable Human First Routing so calls ring your team first, with Twallia's AI stepping in only if nobody answers. We'll generate your login credentials from the portal and connect them to the Zoiper app.

Step 1: Generate credentials in the portal

  1. Log in to your account and go to Portal → Phone & Routing in the left sidebar.
  2. Enable Human First Routing — find the toggle and turn it on.
  3. A Zoiper Credentials section will appear. Click Generate New User.
  4. The system creates a unique, secure login instantly — you'll see a Username, Password, and Domain.
  5. Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.
The password is shown only once. Write it down or keep the tab open before navigating away.

Step 2: Connect the Zoiper app

  1. Open the Zoiper app on your phone or computer (download it free from zoiper.com if you haven't already).
  2. Go to Settings → Accounts and tap the + to add a new account.
  3. Select Yes when asked if you already have an account, then choose Manual Configuration.
  4. Enter the details exactly as they appeared in the portal:
    • Account Name: Twallia (or any name you prefer)
    • Domain: twallia.sip.twilio.com
    • User name: the Username generated in Step 1
    • Password: the Password generated in Step 1
    • Caller ID and Auth Username: same as your Username
  5. Tap Register or Login.

You should see a green "Registration Status: OK" message once connected.

Step 3: Test the connection

  1. Keep Zoiper open on your screen.
  2. Use a different phone to call your business number.
  3. Your Zoiper app should start ringing immediately.

If you answer: you're connected to the caller directly. If you decline or don't answer: Twallia's AI teammate picks up the call automatically — no gap, no missed lead.
